About The Steering Committee
UC LMRI is governed by a Director and a Faculty Steering Committee appointed by the Office of the President. Members of the Faculty Steering Committee represent each of the UC campuses and serve renewable three-year terms. In addition to the campus representatives, the Steering Committee includes a representative from the UC Office of the President. Representing: UCLA 1997-2010 ![]() Dr. Kris Gutierrez: Ph.D., English / Curriculum and Instruction, University of Colorado at Boulder, 1987 Areas of Interest: Current research interests include a study of the sociocultural contexts of literacy development, particularly the study of the acquisition of academic literacy for language minority students.
